MEET THE TEAM
RACHEL ZANGRANDO
Hi everyone! I’m Rachel. I am a mama to 4 beautiful girls, and a sewist of 30+ years. My sewing journey started out as a love for describing designs of garments I would show my grandmother, and she and I would scour her pattern stash to mix and match patterns to create my vision. She began teaching me to sew at about 8 years old, and her strongest skills were heirloom garment sewing, so that became the foundation for my sewing and garment aesthetic. I fell in love with gorgeous, classic lines, quality fabrics, hand embroidery, and unique notions early on. Throughout my life, I sewed most of my own formal garments, and even several of my own costumes while dancing as a professional ballerina.
Sewing and I took a break from one another as adulting took its stronghold. When I began having babies, and trying to beautifully clothe my baby girls, I got back to my roots, and started creating again. I spent several years as a tester for some truly extraordinary pattern companies, and through that wonderful learning experience, I had a large arsenal of my own hand embroidery patterns that I had already designed. When I met Becca, she became a fast and extremely close friend, so when she approached me about designing for her, and learning under her at Sunflower Seams, I was honored!! I have now been a pattern designer since Sunflower Seams’ inception, and love getting to work and learn alongside the incredible powerhouse that is Becca Plymale.

LACEY LEE
Ever since I was little I have always been in search of creative outlets, whether it be art, music, or sewing. I'm a Creative Director by trade and worked in marketing and design until I got the opportunity to become a stay-at-home mom to my three littles. That's when my love of sewing began to really take shape, and I haven't looked back since! When I'm not sewing or chasing kids, I enjoy time gardening, raising chickens and cows, camping, working on projects around our property, crossfit and spending time with my husband of 15 years.
BRIONNA BENSON
Hi y'all! I'm Brionna, better know as BJ. I've been sewing and crafting since I was a young girl. It was taught to me by my grandmother, aunt, and mom! Although I've sewn for years, it wasn't until I had my little diva, Zara, that I really got into it. I love the fact that I am able to to create anything her little imagination desires. It's actually become a favorite past time for both of us, since she loves to see the final outcome and is often my model! Sewing is also what I do as a stress reliever! Aside from that, I'm into makeup, cooking and beginning photography. I am super happy to be a part of the Sunflower Seams team and look forward to sewing up more amazing patterns.

NATALIE KOHN
Hello and welcome to Sunflower Seams! My name is Natalie. Married to my husband Stephen, expecting our 8th child soon! 7 boys and 1 girl! We live in Okinawa Japan.
I have been sewing since I was 6. I was first taught by my Grandma and then my Mom and older sister. I continued to sew growing up and especially loved sewing historical costumes for myself. This put me down the road of studying historical clothing and vintage styling. I especially love 1920's-1950's styles and specialize in heirloom sewing and fine detailed embroidery.
I then became a mother and began sewing for my children! I especially took off when I had a baby girl and could finally make heirloom dresses! I went from an intermediate seamstress to advanced (including pattern design) from 2021-2022. There are ALWAYS new techniques to learn, and I'm always the first in line to learn and advance in my skills and sewing knowledge.
I am incredibly excited to be joining the Sunflower Seams design team and cannot wait to design beautiful heirloom patterns to share with others who love to sew too!

CASSANDRA PIERCE
I've always been surrounded by sewing. My mom loved sewing for her girls. She taught me to sew when I was young, but I was never serious about it until my daughter was born. Once I started sewing again I was hooked and haven't been able to stop since. Aside from sewing, I love being a wife and mother to my husband, David, and our two children, William and Madeleine. I also work as a Labor and Delivery RN and an IBCLC. I've been in love with Sunflower Seams since I first found their patterns. I feel so honored to be a part of the team and a part of this incredibly creative and supportive community.
BRE FITZGERALD
I am a military spouse, navigating the challenges and joys of this unique lifestyle. Growing up, my mother fostered my creativity and love for art through her joy of sewing, and she used her talent to create matching dresses for my sisters and me. As I grew into creativity, I've explored various outlets, from painting to UX Design, always eager to channel my energy into meaningful projects. Beyond my roles as a military spouse and creator, you will find me white knuckling my way through a CrossFit workout, pushing my limits and building resilience. But I'm equally at home doing all things girly with our two beautiful daughters, cherishing every moment we spend together. In the tapestry of my life, I weave the threads of faith, family, creativity, and service, striving to make a positive impact in the world while savoring the simple pleasures of motherhood and the unwavering love of my Savior, Jesus Christ
CASSY BUTLER
Hi, I'm Cassy, former peds nurse turned stay-at-home momma of four. I have always been crafty and used to work alongside my mom making blankets and pillows for my dolls when I was young. Fast forward 20 years and I asked my husband for a sewing/embroidery machine for Mother's Day so that I could make my little guys matching and coordinating outfits. It felt good to get back to creating. My first pattern that I bought was a vintage aunsuit pattern from the 1940's-I made it up as I went along! I ended up having twin girls shortly after and discovered that PDF patterns were so much better than the paper patterns that I had been using for my boys. When I'm not wrangling kids off to their next activity, I like to spend my time sewing, excersicing, and gardening. I'm going to continue sewing these beautiful patterns as long as my girls will let me dress them!
JENNA BELCHER
Hey! My name is Jenna. I’m a neuro PT, just turned SAHM, that loves all things sewing and embroidery! I’ve been sewing off and on as long as I can remember, but really got back into it consistently about 8 years ago. I mostly sew for my 3 kids; Silas, Isla, and Olive. Classic, vintage dresses are my favorite to make, and I love hand embroidery!
GRACE LIPSCOMB
Hi, I'm Grace! I am a stay at home mom to 2 incredible girls and an Army wife. I have always love boutique and custom clothing and when I became a mom I quickly decided I wanted to be the one behind those precious outfits my little ones wore! I taught myself how to sew when my oldest was almost 1 using pdf patterns and youtube! My love grew fast and before I knew it I had too many machines to fit on one desk! I spend my time chasing my children around, sewing pretty dresses up for them and helping my husband's unit and their families and serving other mom's in whatever community we are currently living in!
