Choosing the Perfect Fabric for your Chamomile Nightgown and Pajamas

Choosing the Perfect Fabric for your Chamomile Nightgown and Pajamas

The Chamomile pattern is packed full of options. One thing about the pattern that I find to be so fun, is that it was drafted to work with both woven and knit fabrics, so the options are truly endless.  I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite fabric options that would pair splendidly with Chamomile.

Knits:

1. Bamboo knit

I love bamboo for it’s buttery softness and beautiful drape. Another wonderful quality of bamboo is that it’s breathable and lightweight. Bamboo would make such a beautiful pajama set.

2. Bamboo French Terry

Similar to a cotton French Terry, Bamboo French Terry has one smooth side and one side with little loops, but is super buttery soft and is what dreams are made of.

3. Modal Knit

Modal knit is made from beech trees.  The qualities of modal are very similar to bamboo making it buttery soft and breathable.

Wovens:

1. Linen

Linen would create such a luxurious look to your Chamomile Pajamas. Linen is also very comfy and breathable.

2. Double Gauze

Double Gauze would be the perfect go-to for hot summer nights. It’s a very on style fabric right now and it’s easy to see why.  It’s lightweight and airy.  It would be like sleeping on a cloud!

3. Flannel

Of course, it’s hard to beat a warm, cozy pair of flannel pajamas. Perfect for winter and snuggling up with a warm cup of cocoa.  Flannel is also a very affordable fabric choice.

4. Seersucker

Seersucker is one of my favorite all-time fabrics.  I can see a seersucker Chamomile Nightgown for lounging after a long day at the beach.

5. Flannel Back Satin

This is one of my very favorite fabrics for pajamas for pajamas and nightgown.  It can be a little harder to find at times, but is always a crowd-pleaser with my kids.  It’s a shiny, fancy satin on the right side of the fabric and on the the wrong side is a soft, warm flannel. It’s perfect for fancy, cozy pajamas.

Happy Sewing!
