One of my favorite things to do when sewing is to get my kids involved, whether that be making design choices or helping sew. The new Riptide collection from Riley Blake Designs has the cutest stuffie pattern pieces.
My son loved the sharks so much I decided to get him involved and help sew these stuffies.
Involving kids at a young age in fun and age appropriate projects is a great way to get them interested in learning to sew. My kids have both grown up around a machine and have helped in various ways.
He worked so hard ever step of the way from cutting, sewing and stuffing these new sharks. This project was a great way for him to work on his skills and techniques.
To go along with his new stuff toys I also made him a pair of matching pajamas. I love this traditional pajama style and added some fun pops of color for the collar, sleeve cuffs and optional little pocket.
My son picked the Riptide Main in Mint for the top and we used Riptide Smile in Denim for the pants and details.
I loved spending this time with him and seeing how proud he was of himself for making these adorable shark stuffies.
Riptide is now available on the shelves of your favorite local and online quilt shops!!
Happy Sewing!!
