When I saw the chance to sew up Riley Blake's newest collection, Little Brier Rose, I jumped at the chance! We just released two patterns, named Rose and Briar, and I knew one of them would be perfect!
Little Brier Rose, by Jill Howarth inspired by Sleeping Beauty, is full of charming prints like fairies, dragons, crowns, woodlands, and florals with a palette of parchment, midnight, pink, teal, and blue. And lets not forget the Antique Gold Sparkles throughout this collection!
As my daughter gets older, I am finding it harder to choose fabrics for her. I absolutely loved the main prints but worried she may feel like it was a little young for her. I ended up choosing the Little Brier Rose Floral in Pink Sparkle and Little Brier Rose Woodland in Blue.
I had a tough time deciding between the two patterns but in the end I chose to sew up Briar. Briar is a classic float style dress with a button back closure. My favorite detail of Briar is the cutout puffed sleeves with a button closure. It turned out just as sweet as I had hoped.
I only modified the pattern a teensy bit and added a skinny accent strip between the bodice and skirt. It was a great way to incorporate the Woodland in blue accent.
Two small bows at the end of her pigtails finished off this sweet look perfectly!
Little Brier Rose releases this month!! Stop in your local quilt store or shop your favorite online store to find these sweet prints!
Happy Sewing!
