Sewing Up the Magic of Christmas: A Foxglove Skirt Tree Skirt Tutorial

Hello Sewing Friends! It’s Tamar from Tamar Hope Designs! Are you team get all the Christmas decorations out as soon as Halloween is over, or team not till after Thanksgiving? I’m all about getting the Christmas decorations out as soon as possible! They are just so pretty! This year I dove into Christmas sewing as soon as November hit. I’m really excited to show you the tree skirt that I made with the Foxglove skirt pattern. Turns out the Foxglove skirt makes a perfect tree skirt!

I used a textured linen for a more minimalist look, but you can use any woven fabric. Skies the limit!

Let’s get to it!  You will need:

2 Yards of fabric

6 buttons

The Foxglove Pattern

Cut:

First, cut the skirt out.  Follow the 18 month size for the waist and size 14 for the length.  Then cut two placket pieces 27” x 2.75”.

Sew:

Start with step 23 by cutting the circle skirt open.

When you get to Step 24 hem both the top and the bottom of the skirt.

Finish with steps 28 - 35, sewing the placket and buttons.

Congratulations, you made a beautiful tree skirt!  Now go decorate your tree!!!!
