Happy Tuesday Sunflower Seams family!! It is day two of the 2022 Costume Tour and today we have three different costumes to show you all!
Mario and Luigi
First stop of day two is Jenna! Jenna made her two kiddos Mario and Luigi. "Let's-a go" see how she executed it!
Jenna says "our Mario and Luigi are super simple! Just a long sleeved Dogwood, and Ash (Baby Ash)."
"To girly Isla's Luigi up a bit, I just added the vintage length Yarrow skirt to the top of Ash. Hats are based off a YouTube tutorial I found. Their white gloves never came in from Amazon, but I don't think that's a deal breaker."
"Silas was just delighted to have a fuzzy mustache. The red tee is cotton Lycra and the green is interlock. The overalls are a quilting cotton. All fabrics are from Joann. Both hats are felt from Hobby Lobby."
A Princess
We are among royalty today! Kayla created a stunning dress only fit for a princess and her daughter fit the role perfectly!
Kayla says "Daphne (Baby Daphne) makes the prettiest princess dress! The only changes I made to accomplish this look was add length to the dress and the sleeves. The fabric I used was all from the Walmart Value Bin, so this dress didn't coast a ton to make but looks like it did! The waist band section was perfect for adding the ribbon detail and the back is so elegant on it's own! Underneath the dress is a tulle petite coat made from the skirt pieces and elastic waistband to add some puffiness to the dress."
Annie Wheeler
You are in for an act from the Greatest Show thanks to Alicia!
Alicia says "I started off with the Laelia pattern to create her costume based on the character from 'The Greatest Showman.' I sewed the version without any ruffles and cut the top pieces to have a V rather than a center seam. I used the lines on those pieces and added in a seam allowance for the beige piece in the middle to give it the illusion of a low cut V neckline. The sleeves are based on the sleeves from the Plumeria swimsuit with an added ruffle and band on the top. Last I added trim, rhinestones, and two exposed ruffles on the legs! Both the purple and the beige fabric are milliskin which has great stretch for this type of costume."
Just look at that detail!!
Day two was nothing short of amazing! Be sure to join us again tomorrow as well as the rest of the week as there are still some amazing costumes to still show you all!! As always, be sure to check out our Facebook group to see more pictures from Jenna, Kayla, and Alicia and be able to show their creations some love!
Happy Sewing!
